Founded in 1952 under the approval of Premier Zhou Enlai and named by Marshal Nie Rongzhen after the birth of New China, Beijing National Day School (BNDS) carries a revolutionary heritage, grows alongside the nation, and stands as a cradle for outstanding students, a pioneer in educational reform, and a holy land for educators’ dreams.

In 2018, Beijing National Day School and Shijingshan Education Commission of Beijing signed a cooperative agreement to establish a school, marking the commencement of preparations for Beijing National Day School Shijingshan (hereafter "BNDS.SJS").

We are a public secondary school covering both junior and senior high levels, officially opening in September 2023.
We inherit the educational philosophy of Beijing National Day School (BNDS), committed to creating an education tailored to every student’s growth.
Yet, we are uniquely our own—a trusted local school for families in Shijingshan.
Our aspiration is to become a school deeply anchored in Beijing’s west, firmly grounded in China’s heritage, actively engaging with the world—a school that inspires admiration and aspiration.

BNDS.SJS operates six learning hubs, forming the "Wisdom Valley"(learning community). This is where ideas converge and futures take shape. Wisdom Valley serves students' learning and curriculum implementation, grounding future-oriented educational philosophies into practice. By harnessing the collective wisdom of our community, we tailor individual growth paths and redefine limitless possibilities through measurable progress.

Course Selection & Multi-classroom System

Tailored to Every Student

At BNDS.SJS, we treat curriculum as our core product, designed to serve each student’s growth. 
Through school-based adaptation of national and local curricula, we have constructed a stratified, categorized, interdisciplinary, and specialized framework that activates personalized growth trajectories for every learner.
The school fully implements a Course Selection & Multi-classroom System. Through elective course selection, each student crafts a personalized timetable, creating diversified growth pathways. Through the multi-classroom system, students attend subject-specific classrooms and rotate between instructional groups, implementing the elective curriculum in every learning activity and turning course selection rights into tangible practice.

Since July 2018 when BNDS.SJS recruited its first group of elite grade teachers and new faculty, waves of educators carrying educational ideals have joined this academic community. 
Our teaching team exemplifies "professional expertise, instructional excellence, research proficiency, and unwavering dedication", with elite grade teachers, PhD holders, and master's degree holders accounting for 98% of the faculty. All teachers graduated from prestigious institutions including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Beijing Normal University, Renmin University of China, and University of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
All BNDS.SJS teachers possess frontline teaching experience at Beijing National Day School or its affiliated schools, with many having completed full junior/senior high teaching cycles at our flagship campus. Their remarkable teaching achievements are evidenced by students progressing to top Beijing high schools and renowned universities nationwide.
At BNDS.SJS, educational innovation emerges ceaselessly while growth exists perpetually and permeates every dimension. Centered around the Gewu Camp (second-floor science laboratories), the school has built a dynamic science learning community. Featuring open-access, interconnected, and engaging lab spaces, we ignite students' curiosity in scientific inquiry, provide hands-on experimentation opportunities, and nurture their aspirations in science.

Centered around the Elves Showcase (theater), the school has established a vibrant performing arts learning community. Featuring specialized facilities including drama studios, dance studios, choral rehearsal rooms, symphony orchestra halls, traditional Chinese music and Peking Opera studios, music theory and integrated performance classrooms, as well as individual practice rooms, we dedicate ourselves to cultivating noble hearts and creative spirits while providing every student with a stage to shine.

Centered around the Liugong Hub (maker space), the school has developed a technology and innovation learning community. It caters to the needs of diverse technical programs including computer science, film editing, robotics, electronic engineering, woodworking, metalworking, model design & fabrication, and maker workshops, allowing students to experience the spirit of craftsmanship while creating more possibilities for them to engage with the future.

Centered around the Guangying Hub (5th-floor art gallery), the school has cultivated a visual art community. Through diverse artistic mediums including photography, calligraphy, Chinese painting, sketching, graphic design, sculpture, ceramics, and printmaking, students engage their eyes and hands to discover and depict the world's beauty.

Centered around Xunyuan Bay (the library), the school has built a humanities-focused learning community. As the ancient Chinese verse says, ‘Reach the summit, and the world unfolds below.’ Here, students explore a boundless sea of literature, walk the paths of history, seek moral wisdom, master legal principles, stay rooted in China’s values while engaging globally, and embrace limitless potential for growth.

Centered around the Ranmeng Field (sports complex), the school fosters a physical education community. Offering baseball, basketball, badminton, volleyball, archery, fencing, gymnastics, taekwondo, rock climbing, table tennis, and tennis, we ignite athletic passions—empowering every student to excel in their chosen sport and radiate youthful vitality.
