Applauding an Excellent Class
Open Classroom Week
Empowering Classrooms for Quality, Precision Discussions for Growth
Interdisciplinary Communication
It has been over two months since the start of the school year, and everyone is curious about how the new seventh-grade students and experienced teachers are sparking intellectual collaboration in the classroom.
To prepare an outstanding lesson, communication and learning are essential. Let’s take a look at our ongoing "Teacher Growth Salon Series".
Arriving at school in the morning, Patrick Star and SpongeBob SquarePants at the gate cheerfully greeted everyone! Welcome elves to the "Interstellar Wonder Expo" carnival!
“Open-Door Classes”
The classroom is the heart of teaching. This week, the seventh grade launched its Open Classroom Week.
Every teacher schedules at least one public lesson, while other teachers can "drop in" anytime to observe. Teachers freely enter classrooms to learn from their peers, identify outstanding teaching practices, and give "Applause Cards" to commend the instructors’ efforts.
Does everything conclude after classroom observations and learning? No—teachers continue to reflect deeply.
After the Open Classroom Week, subject-based teaching groups hold discussions to compile "Exemplary Classroom Practices" across dimensions like objectives, processes, and assessments, providing guidance for future teaching.
“The Standards of a Good Lesson”
In addition to intra-disciplinary communication and learning, the grade also organized an interdisciplinary seminar activity titled "The Standards of a Good Lesson".
Building on insights gained from the Open Classroom Week observations and internal teaching/research group discussions, teachers from each activity group engaged in brainstorming sessions tailored to their respective subject characteristics. Teachers across different subjects also exchanged ideas extensively. Ultimately, each group collaboratively designed well-crafted posters through collective wisdom, showcasing the teachers' perspectives on "the standards of a good lesson".
The Fruits of Teachers' Collaborative Wisdom
To deliver higher-quality classes and enhanced learning experiences for students, our teachers have been continuously communicating and advancing!
The “Teacher Growth Salon Series” are still underway. To be continued...
